Tomorrow is National Nurses Day! We wanted to take a moment to thank all of these hard working men and women within this field.
The history of nursing is quite amazing. In the 19th century we credit Florence Nightingale as the founder of modern nursing. She combined great hygiene and strict handwashing as she cared for wounded soldiers. Nightingale and her team helped reduce the death rate from 42% down to an amazing 2%.
Today in the USA alone there are over 3 million working nurses. The majority of registered nurses in the workforce are not found in hospitals, in fact they are in nursing homes, private offices, or home visits.
So do be sure to thank anyone that works in this field as they provide such essential and amazing care!
