Last Tuesday it was “National Popcorn Day.” Many of us LOVE our popcorn, but we sometimes get reminded that popcorn can strike back! Few things are as pestering as a popcorn hull getting stuck in between your teeth / gums.
Here is a helpful tip – if you have a waterpik, try to gently flush out the hull by using your waterpik. To avoid pushing the hull up further remember to use it on a lower setting.
You can also gently use a piece of floss trying to maneuver it on the opposite of the hull, then when the floss is in position try pressing it up against the hull and gently slide down with the floss. The hope here is that the pressure from the floss against the hull will help dislodge the hull.
Another solution is using warm water and your toothbrush to gently brush in downward strokes.
If you still cannot dislodge the hull, give us a call at (570) 421-3060. Remember to continue to use warm water mixed with some salt to avoid any type of further inflammation.
We hope this helps!
